Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 isn't cheap (at least compared to the free alternatives), but it boasts a very full complement of features.
Alongside the antivirus component (which is available as a standalone product), the software's comprehensive protection is split into three categories.
File and Private Data Protection features antivirus and application monitoring, System Security covers email, messaging, web scanning, anti-spam and a network attack blocker, while Online Security adds a firewall, a real-time network monitor, anti-phishing measures and a banner blocker.
Rudimentary parental controls also enable you to limit internet access.
New for 2010 is Kaspersky Safe Run, a virtual quarantine zone that enables you to run untrusted apps within an isolated environment before letting them loose on your system.
The Kaspersky Security Network also enables you to send information about your experience to Kaspersky, so they can react faster to emerging threats.
